Guest Responsibilities and Use of Vehicle
Licensed Driver Requirement

All renters (“guests”) must be legally licensed drivers and are required to provide a valid, current driver’s license either to Freedom Earned Rentals directly or to the vehicle host prior to the trip. Only drivers listed on the reservation are permitted to operate the rented vehicle.

Condition of Use

Guests must treat all vehicles and included extras with care. Vehicles must be returned on time and in the same condition they were received, excluding normal wear and tear. Use of the vehicle for unlawful activity, reckless driving, racing, or subleasing is strictly prohibited.

Guest Financial Responsibility

The guest who books the rental is fully responsible for any physical damage, theft, or loss that occurs to the vehicle during the trip, regardless of who is at fault. This includes repair costs, diminished value, administrative fees, and any other related charges. This obligation applies whether or not the guest holds their own auto insurance policy.
Freedom Earned Rentals offers optional third-party rental collision protection. Guests may reduce their out-of-pocket liability by selecting a protection plan before the start of their trip. However, coverage is void if terms are violated or the guest misuses the vehicle.

Vehicle Use and Conduct

Guests must:
-
Use the vehicle only for personal or business use (unless commercial use has been approved by Freedom Earned Rentals).
-
Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations, including wearing seat belts and obeying posted speed limits.
-
Not leave the vehicle unlocked, idling, or unattended with keys inside.
-
Not permit unlisted or unapproved drivers to operate the vehicle.
Failure to follow these rules may result in full financial responsibility for damages and may void any applicable protection plan.

Telematics and GPS

Some vehicles may include GPS or telematics systems that collect data such as location, speed, driving behavior, mileage, and vehicle diagnostics. By booking with Freedom Earned Rentals, you agree to the collection and use of this data. This information may be used to assess vehicle use, safety, and in claims investigations.

Condition of Vehicle and Pre-Trip Inspection

Freedom Earned Rentals encourages all guests to inspect the vehicle prior to starting their trip. Document and report any existing damage before departure. Failure to report pre-existing damage may result in liability for that damage.

Lost or Stolen Property

Freedom Earned Rentals and its hosts are not responsible for any personal property left in the vehicle before, during, or after the trip. Guests should remove all belongings upon return of the vehicle.

Incident Reporting

All accidents, damages, or mechanical issues must be reported to Freedom Earned Rentals immediately. In the case of a collision, guests are required to notify local law enforcement and file a report where legally mandated. Guests must fully cooperate with any investigation, including providing statements, witness details, and insurance information.
Guests may not continue driving a damaged vehicle without express approval from Freedom Earned Rentals. Doing so may void protection coverage and result in additional liability.

Vehicle Theft

The following actions may result in criminal charges, civil penalties, and termination of your protection plan:
-
Failure to return the vehicle at the scheduled time and location
-
Misrepresenting information during the booking process
-
Leaving the vehicle unlocked or unattended with the keys inside
-
Allowing unapproved drivers to operate the vehicle
Guests are required to report any stolen vehicle to law enforcement and Freedom Earned Rentals within 12 hours. Failure to do so may result in the imposition of investigation fees and possible prosecution.

Repossession

Freedom Earned Rentals or its authorized agents may repossess a vehicle at the guest’s expense if:
-
It is not returned by the scheduled end of the reservation
-
It is found abandoned, illegally parked, or in violation of the Terms
-
A payment method fails and no resolution is provided within 24 hours
